Dressed in his new uniform – a tiny loincloth – our teenaged Marine is bound to a whipping apparatus. The shirtless, young solider torturing him shows him a bullwhip. “Do you know what that whip is going to do to you?” the man in charge asks. “It’s going to cut you to shreds,” he adds before the boy can reply. “Fuck you!” Joel screams as the bullwhip cuts his back and ass mercilessly, his breath ragged between lashes. He whimpers like a boy but takes the pain like a man, refusing to talk, even after his fresh wounds are sprayed with alcohol. The lashing, followed by more mists of pain, continues.
